My quest towards better health has taken me on a wonderful journey into the realm of healthy living. To me food….I mean REAL FOOD, proper diet, EXERCISE and sufficient sleep play an integral part of overall health. Making simple lifestyle choices/habits can go a long way in affecting our health outcome.

I was born a vegetarian but now ascribe to a plant based diet for health and ethical reasons. I believe a well planned plant based diet can provide all the nutrients and essential vitamins and minerals. The recipes featured have been adapted from cookbooks and from some of my favourite websites as well as my own recipes inspired by ingredients used in traditional Indian cooking, my life, travels and everyday interest.

As for the exercise part, I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness. School days I was a short distance runner and a netball player. I enjoy the outdoors and am an avid runner. I have taken part in several marathons and currently freelance as a fitness trainer and yoga instructor. I enjoy any form of exercise be it Yoga, or the more intense Crossfit or sometimes just a 30 minute home workout is sufficient.

Fortunately for me, adopting a healthy lifestyle was instilled in me at a young age and I know it will always be a part of my life.
